The Service of Community Management
Community management is a service that requires professionalism, dedication, and training. CAS's corporate culture includes a strong emphasis on training and the credential program sponsored by the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Of the 102 credentialed Large-Scale Managers (LSMs) in the United States, 2 work for CAS. CAS requires every manager and assistant manager to be actively engaged in working toward and maintaining their Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and/or Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) credentials.

CAS is an Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC). CAI explains: The AAMC accreditation demonstrates a company's commitment to providing the unique and diverse services community associations need. An Accredited Association Management Company ensures that their staff have the skills, experience, and integrity to help communities succeed.
  • CAS employees serve on local and national CAI committees, have served on the Montgomery County, Maryland Commission on Common Ownership Communities, and routinely contribute to regional and national industry publications through articles and on oversight committees.
  • A CAS staff member wrote the acclaimed Montgomery County, Maryland's mandatory board member training program, which all members of association boards in Montgomery County are required to take.
  • A CAS staff member currently serves on the Maryland State Legislative Action Committee sponsored by CAI - a valuable advocacy group that works with state legislators to develop and implement legislation to benefit associations and residents.
  • CAS staff have attended the CAI "Day of Advocacy", where they meet with federal legislators and staffers to address legislation affecting associations at the federal level.
  • A CAS staff member is an active participant on a Montgomery County, Maryland task force to address the needs and possible solutions for "distressed communities" -- those facing extreme economic hardship and maintenance problems.
